2026 Open Enrollment

Welcome to 2026 Open Enrollment!  Metro Fire Equipment is excited to offer a comprehensive and valuable benefits package to you and your family.

Please Note: This Open Enrollment will be PASSIVE; if you do not make changes your 2025 elections will roll over to 2026. 

IMPORTANT:  If you wish to enroll in the 2026 Health Savings Account, you must log into Employee Navigator and make a new election.

 

This guide provides details of each available benefit. Please thoroughly review your options so you can make the most informed decision. Open Enrollment is the only opportunity which you will have to make your benefit selections. You are not able to make any changes once open enrollment closes, unless you experience a Qualifying Life Event. All elections and changes made during Open Enrollment will become effective January 1, 2026.

New for 2026​

​​

  • We will continue to partner with Meritain and the SimplePay platform, however there will no longer be a financing option.  Your plans (Copay and HDHP) will transition back to a traditional set-up, you will pay copays at the time of medical/Rx service, and will get an invoice from your provider for any additional amount owed.  Meritain will generate an EOB (Explanation of Benefits) which will show your financial responsibility.  For those with a SimplePay balance from any 2025 date of service, you will continue your current repayment method until a $0 balance is reached. For 1/1/26 dates of service and after, you will transition to the traditional set-up as notated above. You will be receiving a new Meritain ID card with an updated group number, please present this new card to your service providers for any dates of service on/after 1/1/26.​​

  • ​​We will be moving our Voluntary Life/AD&D coverage from AFLAC to Principal effective 1/1/26.  Principal will grandfather current elections, however if you wish to make a new voluntary life/AD&D election or increase your current amount, please log into Employee Navigator between 11/20-12/5.

  • Metro Fire will be adding a spousal surcharge in the upcoming plan year.  If your spouse or domestic partner has access to their own employer-sponsored health plan but choose to enroll in the Metro Fire Equipment medical plan, there will be a $50 per pay period surcharge in addition to your medical payroll deduction.
